Saturday was a great day!  By bed time i was so exhausted i can not even tell you, but i had so much fun and got so much exercise that it was totally worth the achy feet and the mud covered sneakers.

I started the morning by meeting my mom at her place and heading out the front door. My parents have only recently moved to their new place and with us just coming out of winter, this is the first time that we have really had the opportunity to explore her neighbourhood. They live in a little village surrounded by fields and farms and all things quaint. Its gorgeous. We headed out of the village and straight for the fields. We found a public footpath and made it our mission to find the lake with the ducks, that my mom had heard someone speaking about. We walked and walked and eventually managed to find the lake.  We fed the ducks, sat on the bench for a quick breather and then made our way back home.   Neither myself nor my mom are athletes in any way shape or form but we were very chuffed with ourselves. Not only did we do the two hour walk, but we also crossed the river by doing some very fancy stone stepping!  Wohoo to us!

After a lovely cup of tea, we made our way to Twycross Zoo for the rest of the afternoon. It was brilliant.  We made it just in time for the daily elephant feeding and presentation. They were so cute and there was even a little baby elephant who did all the tricks as well!  From there we saw loads of monkeys, seals, penguins, meerkats and sooo much more. 

A lovely, lovely Saturday indeed!
