Anticipating: A very busy week ahead with a lot of travelling.
Listening to: Law and Order: SVU is currently playing in the background.
Drinking:  A lovely cup of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows.
Wishing: That my I had a holiday booked to look forward to later this year.

Wow these days are just flying by!  End of week three on the new job and things are getting better. This week has been so busy and contained so much travelling - I know next week is set to be just as busy but I hope that it won't stay like this forever.

So here are some photos from my week:

    1. Saturday afternoon was so nice that I decided to go for a walk with my brother round the reservoir. The fresh air was gorgeous.
    2. A very cute old car that I sore at the grocery store and just loved it. It even had a little picnic basket at the back of it.  You never know when you may get the urge to stop for a quick picnic!
    3. Driving home from work on Monday, the sun was out and the sky was blue.
    4. Tuesday evening I had a go at making Hummus.  I had never made it before and while it was easy to follow it had way too much garlic in.  Its still sitting in my fridge smelling it up.
    5. This is the hotel that I stayed in for work. It has a bit of a weird feel inside but it is a beautiful building which has gorgeous surroundings.

How was your week?  Link up with High Five For Friday.

I have been struggling with my weight for a very long time now. I keep trying to make changes and then things happen and I go right back to my bad eating habits   So when I made yet another start on this weight loss journey four weeks ago, I decided to keep it to myself until I felt like I had found my groove.....and found my groove I have.

Here i am, four weeks later, and I have lost 7.5 lbs so far.  My eating has been good and I haven't had one binge episode during that four week period.  So far I am feeling focused and in the zone but I also know that it could take just one thing to make me feel out of control.... and that knowledge is keeping me plugged into my relationship with God.  I know that when that time comes, the only thing that will get me through will be to go to Him instead of going to the food.

To keep me on track and focused, I wanted to state my intentions as follows:

My goal? My goal is to change my life, to become healthy in the fullest sense of the word.  I want to change from some one who doesn't value herself as she should to someone who practises self love every single day.

And how am I planning on doing this? By undertaking a mixture of the following:

    • Joining Slimming world online - This is the only program that I have found that fits with me and my lifestyle. I have a very sweet tooth, but I have found that Slimming world allows me to have a treat but not to overindulge.  It will help me make good choices and keep my treats in check.
    • Getting some form of exercise at least three times a week - At the moment, I do very little exercise....like maybe once a week. It's not good enough and I know it. My body was made to move and while I know that I should do it, I have realised that I am going to exercise because I can. I want to be grateful for my body that is capable of movement.
    • Being accountable - Being accountable is important and I plan to use that accountability to head me towards my goals.  So once a month I will be checking in here, posting my thoughts on how the month went as well as my progress photos.
So here's the plan, and we will see what happens next.

Week two completed in my new job and its going well.  I've learnt loads and finally feel like I'm finding my groove.  Other than work, here's whats been going on.

    1. I picked up my new car.
    2. I made some time to do some art..........and loved it.
    3. I bought some gorgeous spring nail polish, Essie and MaxFactor.
    4. Treated myself to hot chocolate, mini marshmallows and a bar of chocolate.
    5. Dinner for one in a gorgeous country club while away for work.

Did you have a good week?

Sunday afternoons are the best!  An afternoon spent in jogger bottoms and a big old t-shirt is a great way to relax and get ready for the week ahead.  So what did I do this Sunday afternoon?  Well, my to-do list is above and I'm pleased to say that I got most of it done.  The only thing left undone was a visit to my parents which I'll do next weekend.

I haven't had much time this past week to take photo's and I have really missed it, so I made sure that Sunday afternoon was spent clicking away!  These are the new nail polishes that I recently bought for Spring.

Creating makes me so very happy.  I wish that I could spend more of my time doing it but between work and my studies I don't have very much free time.  This Sunday though, I made sure that I put some time aside to create - and create I did.

I hope that I am not the only one to confess to this but it suddenly dawned on me that my makeup draw was in need of a sort out. Sunday afternoon seemed like the perfect time to wade through my makeup draw and boy did I have a lot more than I thought I did.  The pile at the top left of the picture below is everything that I ended up throwing out - all of which I have had for at least three years, some of them for as long as twelve years!!

Have you heard about Brene Brown and a book of hers called Gifts of Imperfection?  My mom bought me her book for Christmas, and after watching her on Super Soul Sunday with Oprah a few weeks back, I dug out her book and began reading.  Her book is amazing and I will be doing a few separate posts on it over the next few months.  I am a huge lover of books and writing in them is normally a big no no for me, but there is just so much good content in her book that I decided that needs must. That decision is not one that I am going to regret one little bit!

I hope that your Sunday afternoon was as good as mine.  Have a great week!

    1. I spent some time this week creating in my gratitude journal.  This journal was one of the best projects that I ever started. I love being able to look back on things and remind myself how blessed I am.
    2. Last weekend my mom made Bobotie for dinner - a traditional South African - which was delicious! Reminded us all of home.
    3. Sunday the sun came out for a few hours so I decided to go for a walk to post a letter to my gran.
    4. This little house is a few blocks away from my flat and I totally love it!  Every time I pass it I say a little prayer that one day it will be mine.
    5. These verses reminded me to stay strong in the Lord and to rely on him and not myself.

Hope you have had a great week as well!

This week has been a fantastic week - one of the best ones so far this year!  I have been off work this week on holiday and have been able to do so many things, including getting some rest and much needed peace.

    1. I spent some time reading Joyce's magazine and really loved her articles on Discipline and how we should embrace it. How it is our friend and not our enemy in life.
    2. No early mornings meant that I could take the time to cook yummy, healthy  breakfasts.
    3. This week I bought a new car and in preparation for the part exchange took my car through the wishy- washy
    4. Towards the end of last year I won a bunch of vouchers at work and with a trip to town planned, I had every intention of treating myself.  And for those of you who are unsure about Rituals, their products are just gorgeous and well worth the price tags.
    5. Easter tulips from my mom and dad for Easter - no chocolate eggs for me.

I hope your week has been as good as mine.

We are officially in Spring now and yet it is unusually cold here - just yesterday it was snowing.  It looks like this cold weather is here to stay for April but lets hope that the weather men are wrong.

So, enough with the weather, lets recap my overall priorities and goals for 2013.

These are the five priorities I set for this year:
    1. Take care of myself emotionally & physically - including focusing on living my personal boundaries
    2. Focus my energy on doing well at Uni and at work
    3. Nourish and grow my relationships with friends & family
    4. Be open to opportunity and possibility
    5. Have more fun, try new things and be happy in who I am

    REVIEW : : March intentions.
    • See a movie - Unfortunately I didn't get to see Safe Haven as I wanted to, however I did get to spend a special day with my in which we went to watch The Guilt Trip.
    • Create a love list - I didn't get around to doing this goal during March so I think I will move it to April.
    • Maintain focus on my health journey - The progress that I have made with my health this month has been good. I am very proud of the choices that I have made and the decisions decided.
    • Find a new job - I am uber excited to share that I got a new job this month - post.
    SET : : April intentions.
    • Submit TMA02 and make a start on TMA03 - TMA02 is due in ten days time and I would like to make a start on TMA03 to ensure as much time as possible for study later on in the year.
    • Create a love list - I have seen so many great Love Lists around on the Internet these past few weeks that I want to create one of my own.
    • Maintain focus on my health journey - I plan to ensure that no matter what happens this month that I will be going to each and every weigh in. I also want to remember the importance of celebrating success along the way.
    • Love Myself - This month one of my intentions are to find one thing that I can do to provide love and support to myself. It doesn't need to be big and should not cost any money
    • Maintain relationships - This month I want to write to granny and speak to Rayola. I need to work on the relationships in my life.
    • Make a good start in my new job - I have a lot hanging on this job and I don't want to mess it up, so I am hoping that everything goes well.
    CELEBRATE : : I'm looking forward to.....
    • A pay rise - I have some big plans financially so I could really do with a pay rise. I know I am getting one with my new job, I'm just not sure how much yet.
