Live Brave

  • A few days ago I posted my day in the life photos and words. It was a really fun way to capture my day and I enjoyed it even more while I was putting together this spread for my project life album.

I decided to go with a two full page 12 x 12 spread.  I created my design and then went about choosing my photos, adding the right time stamp and a key word or phrase and then stuck it all down.

I made a few mistakes with the photos allocated to this page and ended up finishing my photo paper, which meant that I couldn't reprint the photos. Instead of waiting, I decided to just go with it and added a couple filler cards/ I am really pleased with how it has come together and plan to re-do this project later on in the year again.

A few days ago I shared a post with you about my craving for Freedom. Freedom from striving to attain a body classed as thin or skinny, freedom from my current relationship with food and freedom for my heart from the negative self talk and thoughts.

It is a little tricky, this dream of freedom while trying to lose weight and live a healthy life. While I continue to work on finding my freedom, I plan to also focus on getting healthy and achieving another of my goals, which is to lose 60lbs by the end of the year.

This is where DietBet comes in. DietBet has been around for ages now and there have been a few different times over the years, that I have considered signing up. The thing that put me off though was that for someone who has a lot of weight to lose, losing 4% of my weight in 4 weeks in a healthy manner is near on impossible and so I gave it a miss.  But the other day I saw an add pop up on Facebook for DietBet, advertising that they now also have 6 month transformation games. So I clicked on over and found a game that involves a challenge of 10% off in 5 months a either a maintaining of that 10% or further losing for the 6th month.  I started to get excited, this was something that I could probably have a pretty good go at doing.....and so I signed up.

The game started on the 5th of April and the goal is to lose 9.8lbs by the 5th of May. Now that is still a real challenge for me and I am not 100% sure that I can make that....but I am willing to put in the work and give it my very best effort to see if it is something that I can do.

As part of the game you need to submit a full length photo of yourself on your scale each month, so here it is...my before photo if you like.  I am both excited and scared silly but I am going to give it my absolute best shot to reach each months percentage targets.

Today I am happy to be sharing Week Two of my Project Life album.  Here is a look at how it all came together:

Brave is my One Little Word for 2016 which you can read a little more about here. Week Two saw me being extremely brave - going to the dentist which I am terrified of and upon arriving, finding out that my usual dentist had left and I know had a new lady that I had to get used to. Alright for some, but terrifying for me!  Anyway, the one thing that I learn't about myself and my One Little Word is that living a brave life means doing things even though you are scared.

This winter has been very mild. We didn't get our first snow fall until the second week in January and when it did snow, it was only a sprinkling. Nothing major at all.  My brother and his girlfriend sent me this picture of the street outside their house where someone had created these two hearts in the snowfall...I still can't figure out exactly how they did it but it is pretty awesome!

Happy Saturday! I hadn't planned to take so long to share my Project Life spreads with you all but here we are...it's April 2nd and I am only just getting around to sharing Week One.  If you haven't yet had a chance to see my title page, you can see it here.

It wasn't until the middle of February that I decided I was going to change up my Project Album plan compared to last years plan. In 2015 I did a double layout for each month with a few additional inserts but this year I am going to try a single page layout each week.  As I hadn't planned to do this from January 1st, I had to be a little creative the first six weeks of the year.

This week was mostly about the photos. About spending time with my dad and on my own. About taking down the Christmas decorations but making the most of the fairy lights which I just couldn't yet put away.

These are my favorite cards from Week One. Smidge sitting in a box......always sitting in a box and one of my bible journaling pages.
