  • Summer has just whizzed by and I have loved every minute of it.  Unfortunately it hasn't left much opportunity for updating my little corner of the internet so I thought it would be fun to do a little summer edition of a Currently list.

Reading | All the house decorating hasn't left much room for reading but just last week I finished off Sabotaged by Dani Pettrey.  This is her fifth book in this series and I have read each book and loved them all.  I have gone a little book crazy the past week or so and have six books in the post making their way to me. I can't wait to dive into them.
Playing | A lot of Spotify at the moment. I love that I can have all my favorite songs in the same place.
Watching | more TV than I probably should be but less than I was at the beginning of the year. Progress not perfection, right?
Trying | to figure out what I can do to help my body heal itself
Cooking | a lot more fish than I usually do. I seem to have gone off chicken lately for some reason.
Eating | far too much sugar and processed foods these past few weeks
Drinking | water and chocolate nesquick
Texting | my brother to ask him to not worry about picking me up any more chicken from the butchers tomorrow
Going | to try to get to the beach one last time this summer
Loving | the time that I am spending in my bible journaling pages
Hating | the evenings are getting darker earlier and earlier
Thinking | how great it is to have friends in my life
Feeling | tired all the time at the moment - that has got to change
Hoping for | a breakthrough in my body and my relationship status
Celebrating | very little at the moment - I must figure out a way to do this better
Smelling | a horribly strong smell of Vanish as I spilled my drink on the sofa and had to clean off the stain
Ordering | books, books and more books
Considering | a new approach to healing my body

Hello Wednesday, I'm glad to be heading towards the weekend!

Well Wednesdays are often my travel day for work.  This morning I was up and out the house by six thirty am and I was on the road for four hours.  I always try to stop about half way to my clients office for a quick stretch and a cup of coffee.  This morning was no different.

Travel days are always really long days with all that driving. By eight pm I was home and the first thing to always come off after a long day are my work pants...lol.  I hate stuffy work pants and after sitting in them for fourteen hours I was pleased to be free of them.

Thankfully the drive home was not too bad but by the time I got in the house the rain was coming down nicely. I know summer is for sunshine and being outside but I do love a little rain beating down on the windows.

I made a cup of tea and headed upstairs to unwind and relax by doing some bible journaling.  It is the first time that I drew in my bible and used watercolors for the scripting and while its not my favorite page it was fun doing it. I really do love this verse and what it means to me right now.

While locking the house up for the evening I noticed my fairy lights were on outside. As much as I love looking out and seeing these little guys all lit up, it was also a sad reminder that the evenings are getting darker earlier and earlier and summer is coming to an end.

Hope your Wednesday has been as good as mine.

Today has been better than yesterday was and it shows in my photos and I can feel it in myself. A good night sleep and a bit of perspective does wonders for my weary soul.

Here's a look at my Tuesday, starting with what I wake up to pretty much every morning:

Mornings are for cuddles and I think we both look forward to them.  I love how he tucks himself right up against my side and into my arm. He always falls asleep by placing his little head on my arm. On those rare occasions that I wake up without him next to me I find that it really makes a difference to my day.

He was so looking forward to breakfast this morning but the camera on the floor was just too tempting for him to pass up and he headed on over to investigate.

I have ummed and aahed about including this almost full length photo of me.  I'm really struggling with my weight and am having to learn to love myself as I am now, while I am on my journey to where I want to be. These past few weeks this has been super tough for me but each morning I wake up, knowing that I need to figure this thing out.

Dinner tonight was a lamb stew with lots and lots of vegetables. Tomorrow I am travelling for work and will be on the road for about 7 hours and in meetings for 4 so I wanted to make sure that I had something wholesome to come home too.

Part of what gives me perspective is taking time out. Time out of my schedule and most importantly time out of my own head.  Creating, reading, sorting through what's going on inside of me are all ways that help me to untangle my feelings, figure things out and rest up. Putting this together in my journalling bible was a lot of fun.

I also sold my tumble dryer this evening. Its been up on gumtree for a few days now and someone has finally come to pick it up. It was far to big for just me so I am glad to have the money and the extra space back.

Well, that is it for today. The travelling tomorrow means an early evening for me tonight so I am off to start getting ready for bed.

As I sit down to write about my day, the words that come to mind are...."Phew, I'm glad this is over with!". Now that is not my normal attitude to a Monday but today, this is where I am. I didn't capture many photos and oddly enough, considering the aim of this project is to capture my everyday life, I didn't even make it to Zumba. My go to activity almost every single Monday for the past eighteen months.

This morning started at around 7:45am. I got up, made a cup of tea and headed into my art room. Most of my working week this week will consist of working from home, which means I get a bit more of a lay-in in the mornings and don't have to fight my way through morning traffic.  It also means that I don't need to put any makeup on and if I feel the need....I can spend the day in my pj's.

I tend to work in the lounge on the sofa and most days my TV stays off while I work. Today I had one telephone conference and the rest of my day was spent answering emails and working on reports.
I enjoy working from home and the freedom that it gives me.

As I said earlier, I normally head off to Zumba with my mom on a Monday evening but tonight she called to say that she wasn't going to be able to make it and I wont lie - I was pleased to hear it. I did not feel like getting my groove on tonight.

So instead, I put on some of my favorite tunes, took a shower, made a cup of chocolate milk and sat down to write this post.

Tomorrow I shall do better and will take more pictures but today was how it turned out and this is my life right now.

Today is the start of Ali's yearly Week In The Life project.  I am pretty excited as this is the first year that I am able to take part as every other year I have been in the final stages of exam revision. Last year I even bought Ali's kit but it sat unused in my craft room until yesterday.

Most people do a full mini album for this project, but I have decided to incorporate mine into my project life album.  I am capturing the everyday of life for the next seven days, which Ill document over four pages in my project life folder. Each day has two 3 x 4 and two 6 x 4 pockets allocated for it.  I fished out last years album and have prepped the pages which you can see below.

I'm still undecided about how I am going to fit a full day into such a small number of pockets but my thoughts so far is to have the journalling in the 3 x 4 and photos in the 6 x 4.  Perhaps Ill include some writing directly onto the photo - perhaps not.

What I am sure about is my intention for this week - To capture who I am right now. My struggles and my joys. My good side and my not so good side. My day in, day out activities and my one off happenings.  I plan to do this using photos and words, with neither taking priority over the other. Both are important. Both will help me tell my story.

I hope to share my pictures and stories on my blog each day. I hope to remember to take the time to capture those moments when I get sucked into work. I hope to capture my life as it really is and not let my need to "make it look better" get in the way.

I'm excited to get started and I would love to share your week with you, so leave me a comment with your blog link and Ill be sure to stop by.

I can't believe this little guy is two years old.  He has become a part of the family and he fills my heart so full of love and happiness.  He has made my house a home and I am so thankful that I gave in and decided to get him.  He is such a little character and has all the neighbors wrapped around his little finger!  Thanks for all the happiness and laughter Smidge - Happy Birthday!

Pocket Letters have taken Instagram by storm - at least the feeds that I am linked into.  When I first came across them I loved the idea of sending a letter to someone with so much creativity and care.  I love how it just screamed " you're special" and how it allows you to create from the heart and then share that with someone who appreciates it as much as you do.

At the beginning of the year I signed up for Ali Edwards, One Little Word year long class and as a part of that I signed up to having a pen pal who was also taking Ali's class.  We couldn't have been a better match and hit it off straight away.

My lovely pen pal creates pocket letters and asked if I wanted to swap letters with her.  I jumped at the opportunity and six weeks later I had created my first pocket letter.  As I do, I did my own spin on it.  I love how the front of the letter came together.

It was a lot of work, but I love that what I have created is going to be shared with someone else and not just kept in my album.  I watched a few different videos on YouTube and decided to package it up like this.

Now this is what arrived from my lovely friend and it is just beautiful. The front of it has quotes all over it....

and the back of the letter holds all the goodies and the letter of course. I love everything in the pockets - especially the paper clips.

It came wrapped up with all these extra goodies and this little gem totally made my day.  If you have been on the fence about joining in the craze then find a like minded friend and give it a go - you probably already have all the supplies you need already in your stash.
