Reykjavik is Icelands capital city and two thirds of the Icelandic population live in and around the city. It is a beautiful place, with friendly people and beautiful buildings and parks. Here are some photos from our time in the city...
At night, the city lights up with romantically lite candles everywhere. The restaurant that we ate at had no lights on, only candles. They had on offer a buffet at the restaurant, all of which was kept warm with candles. The hue of those candles made the evenings almost magical.
And a lot more buildings......Iceland is a very colourful place. Just looking at the photos you can see all the different colours of the buildings. Perhaps its because its cold and dark for so many hours in Iceland, but there is definatly a lot of colour to cheer things up.
And an awesome view of the ocean that I captured while walking through town.
I didn't really spend a lot of money on things in Iceland, but I did find this really pretty (and once again colourful) head warmer. Its amaizing how warm your ears are kept.
Reykjavik is also full of bizzare and beautiful statues. Almost every street that you walk up has some sort of creation on it.
