When last did you treat yourself?

And i don't mean with food. During the period of my life that i was handling my emotions, fears and happiness with food, the only thing that i thought about when i needed a pick me up was food. If it was chocolate and considered naughty then that would be the prefect treat for me.

Fast forward to my life today and i am pleased to say that i am finding other ways to treat myself. Best of all, its no longer food treats that pop into my head.

The past year and a half i have been through a lot of changes. Too many to share with you on this one post but i think one of the best things that have come out of them is that I feel proud of myself. I really truly have things to be proud of and in turn that is helping me to be proud of who i am.

My one greatest fear is the dentist. I know it sounds trivial but for me it involves tears before i even get to reception. It involves convincing myself for 9 years that i could get by without visiting the dentist. But last year, i started having problems with my wisdom teeth and by January this year i had no choice but to go and see the dentist.

So far this year i have been to the dentist four times. I have had checkups, one filling and most recently, as in last week Thursday, i had my top wisdom tooth out. And to top it off i was awake the whole time as they don't put you to sleep here in the UK unless they absolutely have to. OK, so i did cry throughout the entire appointment and i was shaking so badly by the time they had finished that i had to lay down and wait for it to pass before i could drive home, BUT i did it!

So on Saturday i decided that i deserved a treat. Something that i wouldn't have to be out of the house too long to enjoy and something that would be painless on my wallet. So i nipped out and picked myself up one of these.....

A tall, skinny mocha frappucino and a Starbucks card. Yes its edible but it is skinny and tastes fabulous and i fitted it into my points allowances.
Sometimes, its nice when people around you treat you. My friend brought these beautiful flowers round for me yesterday when she came to visit. I haven't had flowers from anyone in a really long time. It made my day and looks absolutely fabulous in my lounge.
Thanks Julie!
