Live Brave

  • Loving | the new wall art that I put up in my room this weekend.  The prints were from the Colour Conference at the end of April and the frames I picked up from Wilkinsons for a really great price. I have been wanting to add something to that wall for about eight months now and I finally found something that I love.

Taking | everything off my current IPhone 5c in order to transfer it all to my new IPhone 6S.  I was so undecided about upgrading but eventually I took the plunge and jumped on in....and who wouldn't love the gorgeous Rose Gold colour.

Planning | to meet a new friend for coffee on Wednesday. Not sure if it will turn into something special but I am willing to put in the work in order to have more real friendships in my life. Plus we are meeting up in a little village that I have never visited before which I am looking forward to.

Working | really hard on eating clean foods and moving my body as often as possible. Some days are better than others ( i have had a pretty bad three days of eating ) but thankfully I can start a fresh tomorrow morning and keep moving forward.

Feeling | a little sad that the book I have been reading is finished. I bought it on Monday and finished it Saturday morning.....and what a great way to spend a Saturday morning... curled up in bed with a cup of tea and Smidge on my lap. If you haven't yet read Nicholas Sparks Guardian, then make sure you take a look because it is a real page turner.

Busy, busy, busy! That is what my life has been the past couple of months. I have been working really hard on maintaining balance through it all but this week just gone has begun to show the cracks. Thankfully I have a few days off work next week and I plan to take that time to regroup, re-prioritize and find my balance point again.

While I do that I want to share some of what I have been up to lately.

    1. I have been moving my body almost daily.

Consistency is the key here and it is what I have been intentionally focusing on.  Some days I look forward to heading out that door and other days, I really have to drag myself.  One thing that I have been doing to make the most of the time I am spending moving my body is catching up on podcasts and that I have been loving!

    2. I have been truly living my one little word of BRAVE.

As I have come to realize so far this year - brave comes in all shapes and sizes.  There are some big steps forward that I am working on being brave about but I am also proud of myself for the brave decisions and actions that I have taken this far.  Five months into this word and I find that it is both an exciting and terrifying word for me.

    3. I have been keeping my creative heart with happy.

One of the big things that I try to do when life gets exceptionally busy is find time to create. Be it 10 minutes here or an hour there, my heart needs that time to create, to unwind, to find balance.  This year my focus has mainly been on Project Life and One Little Word, but I have also been building my skills by taking Ali Edwards Lens of Joy class.

    4. I have been taking the time to treat myself.

It's the little things sometimes. For someone whose "go to" treats are normally food related, I have had to find alternative ways to treat myself while I focus on clean eating.  So far I have treated myself by painting my nails, having highlights put in, face masks, new fiction books, prints for the wall.  It takes time to change your default settings so to speak but each day I am making progress.

    5. Working my socks off!

This one definitely hasn't been my favourite. Long hours in front of the computer and many hours spent travelling up and down the country.  If you know me in real life, you know that I am not put off by hard work and truly believe that there are seasons where hard work is a must, but these past five months are not one of those seasons.  There has just been too much to do, with little direction and even less appreciation.  Hopefully the next five months will be different.

And there you have it. A window into my life lately. What have you been up to?

A few days ago I posted my day in the life photos and words. It was a really fun way to capture my day and I enjoyed it even more while I was putting together this spread for my project life album.

I decided to go with a two full page 12 x 12 spread.  I created my design and then went about choosing my photos, adding the right time stamp and a key word or phrase and then stuck it all down.

I made a few mistakes with the photos allocated to this page and ended up finishing my photo paper, which meant that I couldn't reprint the photos. Instead of waiting, I decided to just go with it and added a couple filler cards/ I am really pleased with how it has come together and plan to re-do this project later on in the year again.
