Live Brave

  • I am learning more and more, that when you open your heart to God, He responds.  With every step you take towards Him, He steps towards you.  It's been a process for me, one day at a time but I am so grateful that He wants me to draw near to Him.

On Thursday I had to travel up to Newcastle to see a client. It's a three and a half hour drive each way which means I have a lot of time for podcasts and music.  One the way up, I was listening to the radio and this song came on. From out of nowhere I started crying, tears streaming down my face.

The thing is ... they weren't sad tears. As I listened to this song I began to get a fresh glimpse of who God is and a realization of how much He loves me. That love for me is what makes me who I am. I can not separate who I am from God's love for me and that was both humbling and beautiful beyond words.  Gratitude and love just started pouring out of me and for the next few minutes I had a real sense of my heavenly father sitting right there in the car with me as I sped up the motorway.

I have never experienced anything like that before. It is a moment I will never forget. On the whole drive back I listened to the radio, hoping this song would be played again...but it wasn't. I have however had it on repeat since Thursday evening and I knew that I had to journal a page in my bible.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights,
who does not change like shifting shadows.
    - James 1:17

Every time this song plays I can't help but lift my hands to the sky in worship and gratitude, so I knew that I wanted my page to have a similar feel or look to it.  I wanted vibrant colors across the page to try to express everything I have inside of me now when I hear this song.

I pray that this new realization makes it way into every crack and corner of my heart and life. And I pray that you may truly know that our heavenly Father is a good, good Father. A Father who loves you so very much. A Father who is perfect in all His ways and knows exactly what you need before you even ask Him. He Loves You!

The last couple of months my monthly goals have gone by the way side but I am here to say that will not fly anymore. So, for the last quarter of 2015 I have set myself some goals to focus on and work towards.

This is what I am aiming to focus on during October:

    • I will find the right volunteering post so that I can make a difference in someone else's' life.
    • I will work on becoming more familiar with how foods affect my body by assessing how I feel and what my body is telling me after each meal, making adjustments to my food accordingly.
    • I will set aside time to spend with friends so that I can build a community of women.
    • I will get up to date with my Project Life album and one Ali Edwards story kit so that I can finish what I start.
    • I will research more about pensions so that I can make some informed decisions and put together a plan for retirement.
    • I will finish reading Fervent Prayer
    • I will get my hands on the requirements for the next level up within my company so that I can begin to assess myself against it and see if there are any areas I need to develop in before applying for a new role.
    • I will spend some time praying and deciding on the direction I want my blog to go (along with a new name) so that I can fulfil more of my purpose.
    • I will continue to work on my relationship with my heavenly father by praying, daily devotionals and creating bible journal pages so that I can grow in Him.
I am going to rock this months goals while remembering that I am aiming for progress, not perfection.

Earlier this year, my mom and I ventured down to London to attend the Colour Conference held by Hillsong.  I posted about the weekend which you can find here but  I haven't yet had the chance to share my Project Life spreads that I did to document this amaizing weekend.

I am in love with how these spreads turned out. I love the mixture of photo's and learnings.  I can not express how much of an awesome weekend this was but I do know that as I look back on this spread in years to come, it will bring back wonderful memories and remind me of some of the truths shared that weekend.

Mom and I are booked in for next years event and if you ever get the chance to attend I would totally encourage you to do so.
