  • Back in July, I came across a post about doing a series of writings on one topic for the month of October. I liked the idea but didn't give it much more thought after reading the post.  These past few months however, I have been on a bit of a journey. While I continue on this journey, I thought it would be great to share some of my thoughts and the things that I love during this month, not only to share with you but to document for myself.

I would love for you to join me. If you like the idea of this, why don't you do your own 31 days in October?  The concept is easy - your chosen topic can be on anything you like. Just pick a topic and then write a post each day throughout the month of October around your topic.  As easy as!

    Here are my posts:

Day 1 - Your relationship with yourself
Day 2 - Are you paying attention
    Day 3 - Treats
    Day 4 - Grey Skies
    Day 5 - Blessing others
    Day 6 - Friendship
    Day 7 - Peace
    Day 8 - Jeremiah 17:7-8
    Day 9 - Being a Super Hero
    Day 10 - Mistakes
Day 11 - Speak the truth
    Day 12 - Inspiration
    Day 13 - It's your life
    Day 14 - I just don't know
Day 15 - Me, right now.
    Day 16 - Blessings
    Day 17 - Fresh Starts
    Day 18 - Unforgiveness
Day 19 - Pictures of food
    Day 20 - Obstacles
    Day 21 - Play Time
    Day 22 - Integrity

The day that I turned 31 was one of the best birthdays that I have had in a very long time. I really wanted to make it a special day for myself so I made sure that I went all out.  I took the day off work and put together a plan of action.

I started the day off by heading into town to do some shopping and having a manicure.

I purchased some earrings from Accessorize and a few other things.
I then headed off for a hair cut followed by a facial at this gorgeous beauty salon. One hour of heaven.

I then made my way to my parents place where I opened lots of pressies, pressies from my folks, Gran and friends.  I felt so blessed to have such lovely gifts and to get such lovely cards from people.

After opening all my gifts, we had a delicious dinner and some of my mom's famous cup cakes!

And then, a few days ago, a surprise gift landed on my doorstep all the way from my friend in Canada. More pressies!

All in all I had a fantastic day. The year ahead is going to be the best one yet and I am excited to see what it brings.

This month has indeed been the awesome month that I had thought it would be. I haven't had much time to update things on here but I have had a wonderfully fun filled month.  Here are some of the things that have been going on lately...

♥ In case you have missed it, it was my birthday this month. I had such a great birthday and I got fantastic gifts. I felt so blessed and so special - it was great. I have so many photos that I think its going to be best to do a separate post on how the day went and all the lovely things I got.

♥ The Race for Life Cancer Research Charity Run finally took place this month. It was scheduled to take place in June, but due to all the rain we have had this summer, it was postponed on three occasions.  But, with summer pretty much over, the race was set and we had a lovely morning taking part.

♥  I am now the proud owner of a Kindle and a gorgeous "Tutti Fruitti" cover. I ♥ it!

♥ I met up with my lovely friend Jane for dinner and a chat. I met her a few months ago when I went on holiday to Wales and as she only lives about an hour from me and comes to my city to work twice a week, we decided it would be the perfect opportunity to get together. You know what I love most about her? Its her happy, loving, bubbly personality.  She wants to hear what is going on in my life, she listens to what I am saying and she is genuinely interested in me. That is a rare gem that needs to be treasured....and treasure it I do!  We also decided to share a very nice desert after dinner - who could resist this!

♥ Much of this month has been taken up with me working on my Biological Psychology final assignment. It was a real whopper and it took me hours upon hours to complete. But, despite that, I stuck with it, worked really hard and eventually sent it off just last Saturday.

♥ I also tried a whole bunch of new recipes this month. Most of them were a huge hit, while only one or two were a bit of a flop.  I love cooking and am definitely going to make this more of a priority in the months ahead.

As I said, September has been an awesome month!
